2002 X5 Brake lining warning wiring fault (not the normal1!)
Discussion
I had a fault come up on my front brake sensors but although i have learned the reset procedure the fault keeps coming back. Traced it to a faulty ground wire back to the black box. The only way I can succesfully clear it is to connect the positive (yellow) wire to ground but I am a little worried about this in case of fire and flattening the battery as a current remains for around a minuete after you turn the car fully off and take the key out.
Basically anyone out there had this and able to tell me what they did to succesfully and safely resolve it as maybe a wire to ground is ok but its not a 'controlled' ground?
Thanks in advance.
