A colleague has been trying to sell his 1 series for quite some time. It is a 2007 facelift 120d in m-sport guise. It has a nice spec and although slightly up on the miles it has been well looked after and price wise it is pitched about right for a private car. But he has had little or no response. Are there too many to choose from, are people avoiding 3 door's, is silver not the colour does 55k on a 2007 put everyone off?!?!
Any tips or advice would be gratefully received.
p.s I haven't revealed the ad as I'm not sure about the rules?

Most likey is the price is too optimistic.
If I was buying private, I would want a good chunk off the dealer price (negotiable price, not really what is listed).
As I prefer to get cars from a dealer, because I don't really know what too look for in a private sale, I might not be the best person to comment.

The price is difficult, and I did wonder about that. BMW's seem to be all over the place based on spec.
The price range for a 2007 177hp 120d M-Sport is £11,000 to £16,000 on autotrader. The car in question is just under £12k with a good few grands worth of extra's.
The miles/spec are similar to this [no nav though]
