resetting the warning light..

I've had the fixed warning light appear on my car....it's for low tyre pressure. The manual says to 'gently' move the indicator stalk repeatedly up and down until it gives me the option to select which warning light to reset...Simple yes?? No can I buggery! It says to start the car and carry out the sequence BEFORE driving off....simple?? No it's not.


Am I being a twonk here???

It appears I was being a twonk...damn me and lack of patience!

I was moving the actual stalk when I was supposed to be moving the little lever ON the stalk.....
