335d in London
Discussion
I know there has been lots on here re mpg .... but, what sort of real world mpg am I going to get from a 335d in London / Surrey given the average mpg's I get/got below on my last 2 cars.
For the sort of driving I do - a mix of short urban journeys and some out of town stuff I get on average 40mpg from my 320d coupe auto and got 24mpg from my Z4M Roadster that I had before the 320d.
Ideas on mpg appreciated

The 335d isn't all that amazing on fuel (although I guess it's good for it's power!) TBH especially around town.
I'm down in Cornwall and do push mine hard - I tend to average low 30s. I have yet to get a long term average (apart from one motorway trip!) above 42mpg!
The 330d is a fair bit thriftier but obviously only has one turbo and isn't as quick.
Range is useful though - you can get 400 miles on a tank even when driving it properly. Post 2008 (Efficient Dynamics) is a wee bit better but the real World difference is tiny.

My December 2007 E91 335d gets an average of 37mpg, which includes a mix of motorway and in town pootling. I would say in town it probably hovers around 30mpg or even less, but we do get around 450 miles between fill ups even when it's mostly urban driving.
On long motorway trips it will do 550 miles with at least 1/8th tank left on the gauge, something like 42mpg. Note sure if it's ED or not, but it is a Touring, which are obviously a little less aerodynamic than their coupe and saloon cousins.

Pete - actually Tourings are MORE aerodynamic!
Really? That is a surprise given the bloody enormous bluff rear end; the low pressure area that covers the back of the car in muck within a mile of driving mustn't be as bad as I thought.Do you have the relative Cd numbers for Touring vs saloon?
