Hey there,

The roof on my Z4 Roadster is failing to lower, I'm going to have a play with it and try and figure out if it's just the microswitch or if the motor has gone.

However if it is the worst case scenario could someone recommend me an independent BMW garage that'll be prepared to do the work?

I'm near Folkestone, there is a main dealer in Ashford but that would be my last resort.

Regards,

Craig P.

You could try Munich Legends. It's a bit further for you but the service (and rates) are excellent. They have some lovely cars to drool over while you wait too!lick

There's Unit 5 in Whitstable. BMW specialist and have sorted a couple of electrical gremlins on mine.

I was going to suggest Unit 5 too, had my old 330 serviced there when I had it, nothing to complain about really. Wasn't keen to take my M3 there though.
If you go the main dealer route, I tend to use Canterbury rather than Ashford (despite living in Ashford), find them to be better. If it's over 6 years old you'll get better labour rates, it got them to within £5 an hour of Unit 5.

Very helpful, who would that be then?

Thanks, Munich legends looks good, if just for all the car porn there! And Unit 5 don't look too bad either. Would prefer an indy as their work will on average be better and the prices lower, although I'm sure there are good Main Dealers out there, it seems to be the exception.

No idea what crooks you're talking about, as the Flight of the Concords say "You need to be more constructive with your critisim".

Cheers.

Craigy,

Nice to see another Z4 owner local to me.
I've not had to use any repairers yet, but I'm looking at KDS Keltec in Gillingham closely for any future repairs as I think I'm leaving the extended warranty and dealer network.
Good luck.

Sticks.

There's one in Maidstone, can't remember the name rolleyes, in Cross St iirc. Dealers do reduced labour rates for cars over 4 years old and 6 I think, but need reminding, I've read.

Ah yes, do they do service and repairs though or just sales? Was having a look around a car they sold just the other day, shiniest leather I've ever seen! Wonder what it is they use to create such a horrible finish.

Allegedly they definately sell them, the rest is debatable.
