Z4 parking sensors

The rear parking sensors on the '04 Z4 are misbehaving.

Sometimes when you put it into reverse they work just fine, othertimes you get a continuous beep as if really close to something (but aren't).

Guessing one of the sensors is faulty? Have read the fault codes with Carsoft, but nothing showing (which section would this fall into?).

Any ideas?

mine work fine most of the time, the only time when i get a constant tone is just after i have washed it or its wet, not sure if the sensors are letting water in, or the fact that there is water on the face of the sensor, so it thinks there is something close??

If you put the ignition on and put it in reverse, then put your ear to each sensor you can hear them buzz, the one that isn't buzzing is faulty.

Edit to say: have you tried cleaning the sensors when they are continuously buzzing? Had that before and it was just dirt on the sensor.

Mine's got the same thing, and a new sensor is on order under warranty, which is a 2-3 week wait due to them coming painted from the factory.
