Hi guys i have a 330 i M sport coupe fitted with the mv 1 staggered alloys [wider rears]. What tyres are best? currently fitted with continentals but these are now so expensive. Searching the net today and have the following for choice
1.Yokohama advanced sport
2.Dunlop sp sport
3.Bridgestone reo40
4.Goodyear eagle F1 ass
Any recommendations for any of the above. Also Vredestein is another option, thanks Tom.

I've Michelin Pilot Sports all round on mine (18's) and they've been very good. Considering Falken next time - I've heard they're very good and at a much better price than PS's.

Running uniroyal rainsport 2. Have used these on other cars too and strike a good balance between performance, durability and price.

Get much better grip on my Goodyear Asymmetrics than the Pilot Sports that were on there. The PS2s may be better than just the PS ones I had on.

I always ran mine on Pilot Sport 2's but have a mate who's running the Vredestein and loves them

My 330i Sport Touring is on Bridgestone REO40s, and my Alpina B3S was on them too (same size). Both fitted by different main dealers before I bought the cars, so I guess BMW make a good margin on them.

They're fine so far, seem to be lasting well, tramline a little but all E46s in Sport spec seem to. I'd have gone for Goodyears as a first choice but if they were more than £10 a corner pricier than the Bridgestones (which I doubt), I'd happily have the REO40s again.

Sticks.

I had a report, Autocar I think, which used the E46 on a tyre test and the F1s came out on top. Have used them since and not disappointed. I read they've stopped making them now.

Same - MPS all round, they are great and last for a ridiculous length of time which somewhat compensates for the high price.

Any chance you've got a link to this or a scan of it? smile

Sorry, long lost on an old computer which went pop (fekkin Acer furious).

I had GSD3s on an E46 330d which were good, so I put F1s on the Z4 and then the TT and am not disappointed. TT had P Zero Rossos, Z4 rfts fwiw, but can't compare with any other tyre.

I switched from Pilot sports to Falkens on my Alpina D3.
At £136 each for 265/30x19, the Falkens were a bargain.
Easily as good as the pilot sports in the dry.
And significantly better in the wet.
It used to be a wheelspinning mess in the wet with Pilot Sports.
You could plant the foot no problem with the Falkens.
The Falkens were also better in snow, enabling me to get out of my drive, which the Michelins couldn't manage.
The only 'negative' I found with Falkens was they needed a fair bit of warming up on cold but dry tarmac.

I've had the Falken FK452 on the rear of my 330ci Sport and have no complaints whatsoever about them.

I rate the Dunlop SP Sports. Seem to have a really good wear rate.

I use Hancook V12 Evo on my M3 and it has a lot more grip than power wink they also last a lot better on track than GSD3's or the asymmetrical F1's smile

Another vote for F1 Assymetrics. I have them on my 330Ci Sport and they're excellent
