Removed my EGR valve today, couldn't believe how filthy it was inside. Not to mention the huge air restriction caused by the internal parts! And I thought BMW were meant to be good at design.

It's an EGR valve, what do you expect? How doyou expect BMW to redesign it to prevent this?

My god, my sewers are filthy. But I thought my plumber was really good.

I know they can't prevent the filth... I'm referring to the air restriction, it's huge, about 25% of the cross sectional area!

Hmm, is it an obstruction though? Do all the exhaust gasses flow through that component or is it 'T'd off the main exhaust?

Either way, the best place for any EGR kit is the bin.
