remote key fob not working in 2005 5 series estate

BMW say that water has got into the electrics in the spoiler and so I cant use remote to lock/unlock the car. They also want £600 to fix it. Anyone know of a cheaper way?

I had this a few months ago. Luckily for me fixed under warranty so I don't know cost breakdown, but it is a sealed unit so I assume most of cost will be the replacement part. Might be worth trying a couple of specialist independents because their parts mark up might be less than main dealer, and their fitting labour definately will be. Mine was done by Unit 5 in Whitstable.
