Does anyone have any experience of this they can share or any recommendations? I read that some places can't remap the latest cars but plenty of other websites seem to show before and after figures. It's been a good few years since I looked at providers but dozens seem to have sprouted up and I'm not familiar with quality durability or after sales care.

You'll just have to contact a few people, and have your build date handy too.
There is a tuning protection built it to the new stuff, some have it, some don't.
To get round it is some old fashioned electronic work inside to get it into a boot mode, and not everyone has the right kit, or in some cases they aren't too keen on the electronic work.

Well, at least I get a 'free' bump to my post. Still would like to hear of any experiences or recommendations. I am due an April/May delivery and part of me is thinking remap straight away!

I asked a similar question a couple of months ago, albeit regarding a 118d: http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0...

Superfin, Evolve and P-Torque all got a mention, but I haven't taken it any further just yet. Decided to enjoy the car "as is" for now and wait until I start to get bored.

Lease company might not be too keen on me asking for that info ... biggrin but I guess it will be on a sticker somewhere like the boot?

I'd say keep it as it is for a while, and get used to it, otherwise you might never notice the benefit of the extra power.

There is also a good chance that when it goes in for a service, it'll get software updates which will write over the map.

I can't see anyone charging again to redo it afterwards, maybe a few quid to cover expenses, but it's worthwhile picking someone local to you, so you don't need to head to the other side of the country to get it put back on again.
