Hello,

I currently own a e39 535i sport 2000 x reg but it is the facelift model. The problem I have is the drivers memory seat is no longer working, when you press any of the buttons on the memory module the drivers mirror moves?? The electric seat functions perfectly when you use the buttons on the seat? I have done some initial research and think it may be the memory seat module located behind the buttons on the drivers seat that is at fault.

Has anyone had similar problem that can offer any advice?

Many thanks

Yes sounds like the module I guess.

Seems to be remembering mirror positions but not the seat! Does the steering column move?

Mine doesn't seem to remember mirror setting that great, it never tends to be right when I return to the car after the other half uses it (we have the key memory setting turned on)

I had a similar problem after a window fitter monkey had removed the door card, the memory seat functions stopped working, the memory button didnt illuminate and the central locking played up.

I traced the problem back to a broken multi plug going to the large window switch in the drivers door arm rest, pop it out and check all the wires are connected properly.

Thanks for the replies, I think i'll get the door card off and check for loose connections, I has an initial look under the drivers seat to check for loose switches but like I said seats operate fine when using buttons. i can probably live without memory functions but like everything working on my cars.

Many thanks
