I am just finalising the order for my next company car which is a 320d M Sport coupe (with the optional 19" wheels - yum).

Colour is Space Grey, but I can't decide on the interior colour - I don't really want black but that only leaves oyster as I am not doing red or brown (and grey is the colour of outside and would like some contrast). Beige would have been an option were it not for the fact they make the interior plastic the same colour - the wife called it camel...

Does anyone have a coupe in Space Grey with oyster and if so is it a good combo? I am concerned it will look too light and will clash with the outside.

Cheers, TT

Only 3 colours i like in the e92s

Coral red
Lemon (discontinued)
Black (boring yes)

The grey/oyster really didnt look that classy and not enough contrast between grey paintwork. Only ever seemed to work in a LMB (blue) car.

The coral red looks awesome, i REALLY wanted coral red but ended up with black in the end.

Black or red only really works with space grey/sparkling graphite imo.

I have seen it on a demo we had and it looks very smart. Go for it!

I had the same issue, but ended up with Monaco blue and black interior. Much "deeper" than the space grey in my opinion.

I have a 2009 E91 in Space Grey and red/brown leather which is like terracotta. It's lovely, especially with the panaoramic roof, lots of light helped by a great colour leather.

Very similar to me!

Sapphire black (not the same of course!) with Terra Dakota leather and the panoramic roof - looks pretty "classy" and a little bit different. Also hides marks very well!

Don't see many around with "our" leather colour!

Oyster is very nice but it's definitely light enough to get marked a lot.

Sorry mean't space grey only works with black and red leather.

Best combo is black paint and red leather. Truly stunning.

I've got Oyster in mine although it's Le Mans Blue and not grey. I originally went for grey and red/terracotta leather but saw one in the flesh and didn't like it very much. Then I decided I wanted a beige interior but took one look at the seat belts on a two year old 5er and discounted that straight away. Finally spied a 3er with oyster and although I didn't like it at first, it grew on me. Nice and light colour rather than boring black/grey but also has the black carpets so the dirt doesn't show up so easily. I matched it with the aluminium glacier trim which has a bluish tinge and it works a treat. Yes, you do have to keep it clean as it can get grubby but I've never found it a problem as it cleans really easily with the Auto Glym stuff.

Hey, could it be down to personal choice?! I find coral red leather utterly repellent wink

When we bought the car, my wife was really worried our "terra" leather might be too reddish. Luckily it's much more brown than red. The later version red/brown is much redder.

Agree on OCD black though - I'm cleaning mine ALL the time!

Le Mans Blue and Beige is the best colour ever. Shame most people never bothered with it frown

Trouble with the beige interior is exactly that, it's ALL beige! The beige seat belts on the two year old 5er looked hideous as they were so grubby and I just knew that you were never going to get them sparkly clean again hence the Oyster/Black combo for me.

Well I found one on Autotrader, still not sure:

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2011...

Red is a great colour, but its just 'too' red in my book, especially when you are looking at the back seats where it is just a vast expanse of red - if they broke it up nicely with black leather like Honda did with the S2000 then that would be better.

The concept on saddle brown is growing on me, it could look rather sophisticated, but I cannot find any pictures.

Here is the interior of a car just like mine with red/brown Dakota leather. In reality it is slightly less brightthan in the photo but goes really well with Space Grey exterior and the aluminium trim inside.

The red/brown Dakota (close to Terracota) came out in 2008 I believe when the 245hp 330d was launched.

Yep - and it got "redder" too and took on a slightly boring name = red/brown? Did the colour naming dept go on holiday when they came out with that? Surely "Grand Canyon" or "South Devon soil" would be better?! wink

I've got Oyster leather and Bluewater combo on my E90, happy to take a photo if you're interested. I was very unimaginitive...it was the same combination as the one photographed in the brochure.

Mine is Sparkling Graphite with a cream leather interior and it looks fine and I would have chosen this combo had I bought the car new.
