Hi, I am selling my E39 5 series and had a lot of interest from potential buyers in Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Germany. It is right hand drive.

Anyone know why? Just curious.

There seems to be a thing of buying them and breaking them in the eastern block at the moment mate.

Search 'E39 breaking' on fleabay and you'll see that a lot of the breakers are in that part of the world.

Too good to break!

Makes sense now as one buyer said he was trying to work out if there was any money in it for him.

Mine when to Africa..........

I'm not sure for what purpose as the bloke who bought it seems to only buy BMWs and Peugeots (I checked his feedback wink )

I couldn't really care less where it went, I just wanted the best price for it.

Me too, I don't care if they break it.

How did it get to Africa, collected by someone from your home?

I sold my last E38 to a guy from the Czech Republic. My last E36 nearly went to a Frenchman based in Poland.
Prices out there are crazy so they buy them for decent mony here before breaking them and asking daft money on ebay for the spoils of their efforts.

Go for it. They pay good money, don't haggle and are off your drive as quick as you like.

It was collected from my house and he drove it to a container at his 'yard' ready for shipment............

The irony is that he kept pestering me during the auction for a buy-it-now price, and I kept refusing to give one and then he offered a grand for it, but because he seemed a bit 'too' keen I turned him down, repeatedly. Then he won the bloody thing for £820 banghead
