It's not really just BMW, all UK used values are relatively low by European standards.

Then there are of course countries where used values are kept up by high levels of new car taxation and import duties, such as in the Netherlands or Denmark, so it does depend where you are talking about.

Because we've got lots of them. We typically change cars more frequently for a variety of reasons, and there's a lot of people selling to try and relieve themselves of luxury items they can no longer afford. The UK is a pretty big market compared to other EU countries, and there's no shortage of EU countries where cars are taxed to oblivion etc.

I am from Croatia. If I want to buy used BMW car from UK, what is my "warranty" that car is good (not stolen original mileage...? What inspection like hpi car must have?

HPI check will normally cover all bases. www.hpicheck.com I'd also be looking at owners clubs etc to buy from first if you're buying privately, so you're less likely to get ripped off/messed around with etc. I don't know of any off hand though, but they'll be out there. No shortage of them at dealerships either.

If the € was still at 1.45€ to the £ then they wouldn't look so cheap either, while sterling is so low you can take advantage.

Do you can write some independent (trusted) shops which can inspect car to last details and make some official paper that car is in good condition?

www.hpicheck.com will confirm it's not stolen, has no outstanding finance and as best they can they'll confirm it does not have bad history.
For mechanical inspections, a good independent BMW specialist will probably only want an hours labour to give it a check up.

You could pay a company such as Rac or the AA to carry out and inspection on a car, and also get a HPI check done on the registration.
