Ok, got asked this -

"I've got a 2004 E60 535D M Sport. I've already had it re-mapped (whistle)
Is it worth fitting a straight through custom exhaust (decat etc) to the car??. Will i see even greater performance gains or would it not be worth it....not notice any difference??. I'm told it will reduce back pressure on the turbo's and allow them to spool up quicker.

Anyone got any experiance in this?. I've been quoted around £700 for a powerflow exhaust.

Any help, thoughts would be appreciated"

So, does anyone have first hand experience of this? Many thanks.

I fitted a non resonated turbo back milltek to my Golf Anniversary, it was the single biggest waste of money ever

I'm no engineer but from what I recall naturally aspirated engines benefit more from straight-through exhausts than turbos and even then typically only by a few bhp (in a road car). You would also have the arseache of swapping it back for a CAT system every year come MOT time...
