Dearest beards,

As per title, I am picking up a 97R 323i Cabby on Friday. It's my fourth 3 series but my first E36, and comes with £1600s worth of LPG kit fitted. As I only paid £1850 for the whole thing, that makes the car itself worth £250 by my reckoning... but anyway!

A couple of questions:

- One of the only mechanical maladies is a weeping diff. Is this a case of seal replacement or do I have to swap out the whole diff? If so, would anyone recommend swapping to a 325i or 328i diff for more relaxed cruising, or stick with OEM?

- I know a 325i (M50) manifold bolts straight onto a 328i (M52) head and gives a fair few more ponies. Would this also work with the 323i, would it be beneficial, and would I need any other bits other than manifold and gasket?

- Can anyone recommend a good, cheapish (under the ton) induction kit for these?

- Does anyone know max mounting depths for the speakers? I think there are a pair of 5.25" and a pair of 2.5" in the doors - and the tweeters are 1.5"? Having done some research it doesn't sound like there are many 3-way kits available - would you recommend disconnecting the mids and fitting a quality 2-way kit? Has anyone done any install guides anywhere?

I'll post pics in Readers' Drives once I have bought it and removed about 6 months' worth of grime with a healthy dose of Megs' finest.

Cheers,
Russell
