So my E90 came up with a warning saying 1 litre of oil required. Bought a quick litre a my local filling station at a hughly inflated price and guess what...reading came up it needed another litre.

I am correct in stating it dosen't have a normal dipstick am I not?

Mine (m3) is electronic only. Was the engine at normal temp when the reading stated it need another litre ?.

my understanding is it only needs a max of 1 litre as a top up.

I think the first time I fill mine it came back with the same request.

Giver it a run for 10-15 miles and try again.

I must admit I would prefer a dipstick as it takes a lot less faffing about.

From what I have read on here previously it takes a little while to register so as above, run it first to make sure you don't overfill. 1 ltr should be enough.

At least 10 miles driving is needed IIRC before you test it again.

Yes, filled it up and drove at least 10 miles then restarted the engine and waited on the timer. 2 x litres required now ok.
