On the seats in my 330CD cab, above the handle to pull the seat forward, are two buttons that when pressed, move the seat forward and back. Fairly straight forward but what's the point of them? I mean, I can move the seat backwards and forwards using the seat adjustment buttons on the seat base and the two buttons don't work once you turn the ignition key.

I read that there's an easy entry system is it part of that?

Cheers.

I think it is indeed to do with access, since you can move the seat base forward without leaning down, to give better access to the rear. It has a form of memory since if you press to move the seat forwards then to move it back, it stops in the original position. Which is better than using the normal adjusters and losing your seat position.

Just makes it easier to move it forwards when you're standing out of the car tilting the seat forwards for people in the back to get in and out rather then bend down and use the lower controls.

As said by others, it is just to help moving the seat when you are letting someone in or out of the back. Saves bending down basically.

The easy access is something different - this is to help you get in/out of the car easily. i.e., if you double click "unlock" on the key, and then open the drivers door, the window should fully drop. This helps to get into the car in tight car park spaces etc.
