Sadly my beloved e39 535i has to go as I now have to have a wheelchair friendly vehicle - bye bye V8 loveliness, hello van based euro tortoise, complete arse but needs must and all that.

Had a quick scan and prices for early models are all over the place - mine's a 98 but has M tech suspension, wheels, tip auto and a few otrher nice bits - stands me in about 4k in cosmetics- paint, clear lenses and getting all the mechanics sorted - it;s a good 'un - 990k on the clock and loads of history.Got a coule of minor issues, but £100 would sort.

Where's the selling medium of choice now days? Classifieds here or is older stuff better off on Ebay?

Thanks in advance for your inout.

I had to let my tidy, 70k mile, one previous owner, FSH, 528 SE go for £1,300 a couple of months ago.

No interest from the ad on here at all and limited interest on the 'trader.

If you want to sell it be brave and do no reserve on ebay. Make sure to write a good ad.

I wouldn't expect much more than a grand for it at the most. Just sold my m sport in immaculate condition for 2k. People don't want to run a V8 these days I'm afraid.

Sadly its around a grand, perhaps £1300 if it's lovely and you write a good advert.

Lots of people want a 528i for 'balance' (of costs, performance and weight) or a 540i for 'grunt' and won't regard a 535i as an adequate substitute for either. Which is a shame.

As a private sale your talking a couple of grand tops frown sadly as there great cars.
You may be better off doing a part ex at a garage for another car, I got £3000 for a 2002 525ise in january this year against a £7.5k car.
depends if you are selling it for the money to bank or to fund another car purchace.

Big V8's are out of fashion at the minute, although having sold a 98 540 a couple of years ago if you do bung it in classifieds point out pre 2001 = cheaper car tax, every little helps.
