Purple FS1E

Just like this bad boy

Dad also learned to ride on it too.

We're now restoring it - can't wait to get it back to its former glory!

Oh, and one other thing - might I suggest you re-type your post - it's fking hard to understand what it's saying. The only thing I recognised in there was FS1E hehe

Good thread. I had a P reg which I used on the fields, also I had an M reg bronze coloured one which I'd done up while I was at school that looked really good by the time I was 16 & legal. I still remember the excitement of being allowed to ride on the road for the first time. smile

But unfortunately not long after I crashed that one & had to push it home in a wheel barrow. So then I put the M reg & P reg together so I could get back on the road, which was probably highly illegal but no one seemed to care back in those days.

Then my mate had a shiny newer R reg yellow FS1E-DX for sale which I fell in love with & had to have, I was working by then so I could afford it. Lovely thing that was so I kept it till I was 17 & then moved on to my first Yamaha DT 175.

Great memories. smile

ETA.. This should not have been moved.. It's not so much about bikes but more history & memories.

If you are really interested in Fizzy's there are a couple in this section of the board and a recent full photographic restoration by one forum frequenter.

I hope you're being humorous so that's how I'll take it. smile You're absolutely correct apart from the, never looked at a bike since, or rode it to school bit. I left school before I was old enough to be legal on the fizzy.

Not that interested in old fizzys really, this thread just brought back some memories is all & am guessing it would, as you say, for a few other of the more mature PHers that would not normally venture in to Biker Banter. smile

We have some more mature members here too, but understand that the car only lovers rarely frequent this section biggrin

This thread should get the memory lane juices flowing.

I was a little anoyed that this got moved there must have been a few of us 40 somethings that moved onto cars at 17 and have great memories of 70s mopeds
fantic cabelero,malaguties,fsie,ap50,ss50,these were icons in there day designed around a law that a moped must have pedals etc all taking there own twist on the theme allowing errant teenagers unrivalled freedom to the open road like never before.I dont venture into bike banter section as im not really into modern bike scene and i saw it more as a general topic about getting on the road at 16 rather than a bike related topic.

No, bever had a fizzie, had the king of sports mopeds, the Suzuki AP50. 5 gears, 1 more than the Fsie, and went faster too, looked better, etc. etc. Oh, how we wish we'd saved them in the back of the garage until now that they are fetching silly money. Mind you, mine wouldn't have, having creased the pressed steel frame and shortend the wheelbase hitting an old boy on a C90 who turned across in front of me. Sorry for breaking you hip old man with my steel toe'd work boots as I went ober the handlebars and through you on my way to a stop outside the local police station, with the bike embedded in the railing of the primary school.

I had one, was a horrible metalic brown (non original paint) Had many good memories of the fizz but unfortunatly i never got any photos of this, my first bike.
Can remeber having to have a tow from a mate on his Claud Butler Race bike as i had managed to crack the cylinder head on the Fizzy, We got pulled by the Police who though I was pulling the cyclist. (a common thing to do when you were 16 and a mate didn't have a ped) When he saw it was the other way round he was really confused. He said there was probably something illegal about it but didn't know what. Then he let us on our way.
