Big BMW RG1150GS

Shouldn't this be in biker banter?!
Anyway, the R1150GS is a cracking bike, as long as it is serviced will give you many thousands of miles of reliable ownership.
The are heavy though, in fact about 20Kgs heavier than the later R1200GS, however they are simpler and don't have the CANBUS technology and key reader issues that the later bikes have. They also seem to have a better fit and finish than the later bikes and seem to be more corrosion resistant and they hold their value well.
Find a good one and look after it and you'll never want to part.

Range on the R1150GS is very much determined by the roads you ride on and how you ride. On our Euro trips we had a R1150GS with us and when we did motorway runs at around 90mph the GS was needing to fill up at about 120 to 130 miles. On the non-motorway runs, where average speeds were a fair bit lower, the R1150GS was filling up with the rest of us at about 150 miles.
The R1150GS rider now has a 1200 Adventure that seems to need filling about twice per trip!
