Dave,
Price wise what am I looking at for a good Bandit????
Good early ones for about £1500, or tatty ones for around a grand. The comments ive heard were that the early ones are a bit more raw, the later ones sway a bit more towards being commuters. Just what i heard though, could be complete rubbish.
I'm chuffed to bits with my 96P plate Bandit6 - its pretty quick, the brakes are really good and it seems to be pretty forgiving of my hamfisted riding. Cheap as chips too when you look at what youre getting for your cash.

Mark - im down near Salisbury, Wiltshire. If youre local, youre welcome to come and have a prod around mine. If you bring a lid ill take you for a spin on the back.
Not local to Salisbury although HPI who I work for are based in new st Salisbury. Might have to find excuse to come down....

the R6 is totally track focused, way too harsh for road riding, uness you got 100mph everywhere.
it helps if we know what you plan to use it for?
I plan to use it to get to and from work. Car far too expensive and bikes are far more easier through traffic. The bandit appeals to me but the R6 is so damn sexy and fast.
markpetrie said:Very good bikes and plenty fast enough - good for around 160mph. This was my mates first bike.

Have a look at the Yam Thundercat (YZF600)
Nice looking bike
R6's are great, though. I had one for 2½ years and it was brilliant fun. And its amazing what you get used to. I used to regularly go for 2-300 mile blasts on it - hence the (relative) high mileage it accumulated. It never missed a beat. My sister now has it. It's even economical - 50+ mpg when you take things a bit easier.
Only downside was a turning circle that a tanker would be ashamed of.
