Morning all,

I'm trying to find some big boots (size 15) and Daytona have offered to make me a pair but only on a non-return basis. Given that they're not particularly cheap I wanted to find out whether they're true to size or if they run big/small. Can anyone help?

I've looked at Sidi, who make a 15 but apparently their sizes are on the small side. I also tried Altberg, but they won't cater for larger sizes unfortunately. If anyone has any other suggestions, please shout!

Thanks

I go up a size in all of my boots (Sidi, Alpinestars, TCX and Daytonas). So if you know "your size" in boots, and it is a 15, I would say Daytona's will be a 15.

Pretty sure my Daytonas do not have a UK size on them though, just a European size, but I did buy them in Germany.

I had a pair of Daytona some years back and they were true to size for me (10), I now have Sidi and thay are indeed sized on the small side as I had to get one (metric) size larger.

Could you not get a Daytona dealer to actually measure length, width etc of your feet to be certain?

scratchchin Or buy some size 13 A-stars and wear 2 pairs of socks... hehe

I've used 3 pairs and will switch to a new 4th pair I've already bought of Daytona boots this year. I'm size 10 and they fit me perfectly. Note Daytona being german actually work in Euro sizes - I would suggest you confirm what size 15 is in Euro sizings. From what I see some euro sizes are .5 sizes in UK terms. For example my boots are Euro Size 45 which is technically 10.5 UK.

Thanks for the help so far - Daytona claim their 51 is a UK 15 (which it should be) and a generous fit at that. Aside from the Harley Davidson boots - which don't seem to have much ankle protection - these seem to be the largest motorcycle books on the market. Looks like I'm going to have to take the plunge, if they are too small I'll have to sell them on using eBay...

Best boot going if ya ask me - soooooo soft and supple and you can new 'outers' when they wear out - also worth considering ceramic toe sliders if your boots have them - they don't wear out!!

I find them to be about the same sizing as Caterpillar, I take a 12 in Cat boots and a 13 in trainers (mostly). My daytonas are 12s.
Bloody good boots though. Is there any way you can get your feet measured as it's a pretty expensive experiment if they don't fit.

Sidi boots ordered and fingers crossed they fit - at least these ones can be returned at no cost (bar postage) if they don't fit.

If they don't work, I'm sure Daytonas in a size 51 will be fine, albeit at greater cost.

Sidi boots are very narrow. Hope you don't have a wide forefoot.

TCX, Dainese, and Daytonas are much better for people with wider feet.

Alpinestar boots are somewhere in the middle.

I have heard that but have relatively slim feet so hopefully they'll be fine. It's the length I'm more worried about (phnar phnar)
