Use 15W50 as you want it viscous enough to remain on the desmo gear for the next start. I have just used Silkolene Pro 4 which is a lovely red colour, in mine. It is fully synthetic.
Ducati recommend Shell Advance for obvious reasons. They have thrown millions at their racing attempts over the years in sponsorship. Any fully synth 15W50 will do the trick, Motul, Shell, Rock Oil etc. I wanted Shell Advance, but could not find the stuff anywhere! Especially in a 4l bottle.
PS. Make sure you clean the Gauze out!!!
