Hi BikeHeads,

I hope this is not a repost :

www.asphaltandrubber.com/news/harleydavidson-swept...

At first I wondered how the heavy bike could have floated,
but it seems it was in a mover´s container/trailer that was floating.
(Bikes don´t float because of compressed air in tires or do they ? )

If I was the manufacturer of the drag pipes I would use these pictures (more on google)
to promote my chrome quality, they look absolutely rust-free,
look at the damage to the other chrome/steel/alu parts the salt water did.

Yeah, but the bike was sealed in a waterproof box right up until it landed on the beach; all that corrosion is what happens to a Hardley if you expose it to fresh air for a while.
That's possibly why there are so many low-mileage hogs on the 2nd hand market...

hehe

dont look too bad for an 8 year old Harley thats been at sea for a year...I guess they wernt lying about the thickness of the paint n chrome, just a shame the stainless fasteners are in the accessories catalogue, not on the bikes wink
