I would say it would be ok, just will put a lot of carbon on the plugs and not run very well. Unless you're talking about a fuel injected bike, it may be a slightly different story.

Why would you do this anyway?

IIRC 2 stroke oil is thinner than 4 stroke.

I would imagine it would smoke a lot as well

Yup a mistake, early morning, gone to put fuel in the ped and picked up the wrong jerry can... only about a litre or so but didn't turn it on just thought id ask on here first... just a question really, as I did it myself I thought id just ask what damage could be caused!

Is this theroretical or a real life Q?
Either way, it will smoke like a mofo, foul the plugs and make the bike run lean. If the bike has a catalytic converter, it could fook that up as well but much will depend on how much fuel you put in and it's premix ratio.
If you have put som in the tank, drain the tank as much as possible and fill up with fresh fuel to dilute the remnants down. After a couple of tanks it'll be gone

Any old 2 stroke mix that I think has any contamination in it ends up in my generator.

Apart from smoking a bit, nothing else happens

Waste not, want not

My 1930 Morgan three wheeler has a four stroke engine, but gets a small dosage of two stroke oil in the petrol, about 200:1

Makes up for the fact I'm running modern pistons with good oil control rings in a engine designed in in 1924 or thereabouts. A small amount of bore and valve seat lubrication is provided by the two stroke oil which in days of yore would have been enabled by the poorer oil control rings.

The addition of two stroke oil is not an uncommon practice with veteran and vintage engines as oil is cheap and rebuilds aren't. I was put onto this by an oil company chemist.

So if I was given a can of two stroke mix, other than diluting it a bit, I'd happily use it.

1 litre of mix, not a problem really. Long term an substancial use would see the plugs get dirty and the CAT get screwed. Fill the rest of the tank with clean petrol and dillute it even more, and you fine.

We used to do it with Castrol R when we were young.

Great fun and no harm done.

Ah- that sweet smell of a couple of drops of Castrol R in your petrol. Haven't smelt it for years.

p.s. an absolute no-no is unleaded in your diesel car tank.. I did that once.. thankfully didn't start it up just expensive tank drain & re-fill though.
