Driving back from supermarket in the rain (in the car). I spot a young lad pushing his 125. I immediately think of the thread on here with the video of the guy with the broken scooter being brought coffee at the side of the road.

I spin the car round, pick the guy up, take him to his house followed by petrol station and then back to his bike.

Job done. It made me feel pretty good.

Yes I do want a medal if anyone has one. Thx.

TB

Nice one. It's nice to do something like that.

I saw a chap walking along in the rain the other day and stopped and gave him a lift, he looked so bloody shocked and couldn't say thank you enough.

Good on you.

Whenever I see someone in need of help I'm not in a position to be able to offer it. I've been the recipient of good deeds in the past and feel Karma is going to get me if I don't do something nice soon.

I did ask how he'd managed it. Apparently it's a two stroke and uses a lot of fuel. I left it at that! I'm sure my day will come.

My bike broke down a couple of milea from home last weekend.
I hadn't been pushing 5 minutes when a chap (ex-biker) pulled over in a van and offered to see if we could get it in the back.
Due to my sparrow arms and a heavy bike we couldn't but he gave me a lift home so I could fetch some tools anyway.

I've vowed that if I'm in a position to do so I'll always stop and do as much as I can.

Spot on. It puts a smile on your face for the rest of the day.
I did something similar last weekend, on my way back from SportsBikeShop in Boston and a Diavel was parked on the side of the road (fantastic looking bike in the flesh), it had run out of petrol, had a chat to the owner when his mate turned up in a car with a can of fuel. Only if everyone practiced this a bit more in day to day life the world would be a much better place!!

Good work!

I've done that before, driving in the work van - from Battle to Heathfield if anyone knows my area - and there was a young lad pushing his 50cc scooter up Netherfield Hill!!

I stop, turn around, end up putting bike in the back of the van and dropping him at home, a considerable detour from my planned route but it made me feel good and it was only work time anyway biggrin

Nice one!

I went out for a ride yesterday and on my way home I saw a bike parked in a bus stop with the rider standing in the bus shelter. I thought he'd broken down, so I turned round at the next roundabout to go back and ask if I could help him. When I got round the roundabout he came riding towards me.

Apparently he wasn't broken down, but he was checking the map in the bus shelter irked

Been thinking about keeping a litre of petrol in one of those camping fuel bottles in one of the panniers, just in case i come across someone that's run out. Should get them to the nearest garage.

That vid of weem helping the lad with the scooter did make me think too...

Just bought a 1.5 litre aluminium fuel bottle of Amazon. Bit of research needed as some don't appear to tolerate petrol - plastic caps and seals degrade and cause leaks.

These looks good though: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000XYUOY0

Going to fit a braket inside the left pannier (the one that's NOT above the exhaust!) to keep it secure and upright.

I feel a warm glow inside already...
