Any views re preference of tyres for a ZX9????

I am due to replace the tyres on my 2002 zx9 E2, does anyone have any views on the popular tyres currently available for this model??

Has anyone fitted Pirelli Diablo's??

The last person I knew who had one used Bridgestones - BT010 front, BT020 rear, and swore by them.

Dunlop "08's had them on the ZX6 and they were very good . the Thunderace is sat on metzlers (sp?) and i dont like them at all , wheelspin off a roundabout is not fun .....Well ok it was on the kwack

I've got metzler sp somethings on the duke and they seem fine. they warm up really quick apparently

207GP "stars" shite wear, but the mutts nuts for stickyness, grip and handling in the dry. IMO the best tyre you can get for hard road and track day use they are the closest thing to racing tyres that are still road legal. If you want something thats a compromise take the advice of the others that know better than me.

Thanks Mel, I'm only a rank amateur, but Sunday blasts and track days are probably the only action the bike will see next year

Thing to be aware of on the 207GP's is that you can kill them in about 2-3hrs on the rear 4 on the front with hard track use for most people thats a pair per trackday !!!!!!!!!

Also worth a sniff are the Michalin Race Pilots similar wear to 207GP RR's (most people refer to them as "stars" in race compound only ponces call them RR's) and a bit cheaper
