I've just treated myself to a new Kriega US-10 tailpack biggrin

I'm very close to setting fire to the censoreding thing though, as the instructions are censored and I can't see how to get the censoreding straps to stay in place whilst I try and put the pillion seat back in.

It's a new model US-10, so has the loops that go underneath the seat or subframe and the tailpack then clips on using metal hooks.

Can anyone post up pictures showing how they have done it? Simple fitting my censored

Ta in advance, before I lose my rag with the censoreding thing.

Sorry fella, no hope here, but I bought a Kriega R35 back pack last year on recommendation from a lot of people on here. I used it for LeMans, it was ok but it was not waterproof at all so I had to put my gear into internal waterproof sacks. Yes the gear is well made but my after taste of Kriega is that:

a) It's fookin expensive
b) "You look cool with it on yer bike"
c) It 'aint waterproof
d) It's friggin expensive again, and
e) There are plenty of other ways of carryin st without spending a fortune!

I'm now buying hard luggage instead although that is not relevant to your original question wink

Iv got a us20 and 2 us10 which I fit to my cbr600rr with no problems, just lay the straps over where the seat goes and place seat in place, they will probably be a little slack until the pack is in place and tightened.

Iv used mine several times in the rain and they have always been waterproof, even going to last years rain sodden tt, riding home from liverpool to plymouth in constant rain and they didnt let any water in at all.

That's the problem I have - the straps don't just "lay" in place at all when trying to put the pillion seat back in place. Think it's done now, although it was a right ball ache getting it done - kinda had to hold them in place as I slid the pillion seat back on:

To be honest, I think the old style restraining straps look like less hassle.

And I expected nothing else from Rawwr. I am sure he loves his new bike tongue out

I've got the same setup but to be fair it's a bit of a faffin faff to use them - they're a long way from "click & go". It does all work but it could be a lot more user-friendly

What straps you talking about?

Does your pillion seat not have the loops built into the seat like my R1?

Takes all of 30 seconds to clip in place and remove when necessary... tongue out

Superb kit the US10 and US20 and waterproof... Crashes well too wink

Don't use the tabs on the seat. Just remove seat, place two straps on bike correct way up. Replace seat. Clip on bag.

I've toured several times with them. They are a doddle.

100% waterproof as well.

I've never had an issue with the R35 not being waterproof...

I just don't like riding with a backpack on personally.

Just done Spain an Portugal with an US30 but have nearly a full set of 10 20 and 30 and all dead easy to fit and never once leaked in some M62 in Feb weather we had in the Picos mountains!
Can't fault the gear even bought an R3 to put my docs and wallet in and that was mega easy and safer than a tank bag

Only the R30 is waterproof I think.

As to getting the straps out, attach the metal hooks and let gravity do the work.

We have just done 2145 miles over The Pyrenees etc. 3 of us had R30 Kriegas and not one item got wet. I have never ridden with a back pack before and it never troubled me at all. I was on an MV Agusta with its extreme riding position. We also encountered a bit of rain.

I haven't yet tried to fit my US20 to my new Daytona but I'm concerned that the straps will be pushed backwards as I slide the pillion seat back on. Is this the problem you had?

Yeah, either that or they just dropped inside the storage compartment as I tried to slide the seat back on. Got there in the end, it was just a faff.

Ah, that's what I was worried about. Wondering if the old style straps will be easier to use. They're expensive to buy extra straps (considering what they are).

Either that or loop them around the subframe, if you can do that without taking off the rear cowl...
