I'm looking to buy a CBR 600 but being out of the bike scene for years i'm not clued up on them much.
What is the difference between a 600F and the 600F Ultima light?
What year did fuel injection come in and is it worth having.
I'd also be interested to know what problems there are with the 600, as i've heard of problems with cam chains/tensioners.
As i cannot leave anything alone for 2 minutes, i would be interested in worthwhile performance changes
ie end cans, chip etc. And the best place to buy these.

Regards
Ian

Is that 1st to 2nd?
I've heard nothing but good reviews about the bike i would rather have a Ducati purely because of the sound, but being out of the bike scene for many years i'll need a few years NCD before i am willing to fork out extra on insurance.

What is the difference between the models F, FX etc?
The one i've spotted is an Ultima Light 600F whatever that means.
I've read that the fuel injected engine doesn't suffer from the flat spot problem. Would a 2000 model be fuel injected?

The F1 model (2001) is the first Fi model AFAIK

Never heard of that one sounds like a load of bollocks

Most 600s are pretty gutless in the midrange so it's all relative, my 2001 bike was okay apart from eating cam-chain tensioners.

Basically, what he said except the letter on the end of the F signifies the year of the bike. IE CBR 600FS is one year older (model-wise) than a 600FT. Honda then changed to F1..F2 etc

That bike has sold now, think it was on carbs.
I am looking for the fuel injection model and will be looking at a Sport soon.
Prices are good for new at the moment.
I've been offered a 2003 model F2 unregistered for £5,500!
With the new Yamaha 600 being more powerful and even cheaper then this will have a knock on effect i think with older models.

Wait until December time and there will be loads of dealers trying to shift 2004 600s for that much or less.

What would a low mileage 2001 F1 Sport import be worth?
