Motorcyclists and oncoming traffic
Discussion
Since when did motorcyclists decide that it's acceptable to force oncoming traffic to move over so that they can overtake stationary traffic?
When was the last time that you had a motorbike follow you for more than 5 minutes without seemingly having to overtake?
I appreciate that a "perk" of the bike is the ability to nip in between traffic but I am pretty sure that they are supposed to give way to oncoming traffic and not force the latter to move out of the way so they can continue their maneuver.
Perhaps if motorcyclists respected motorists then they would get more respect back!

And how does deviating from your course by a few inches ruin your day, exactly? Most of the time I'm being edged into the oncoming lane because some dozy t

I guess it feels like motorcyclists feel that they have the right to overtake and just stay on wrong side of the road when they are overtaking, rather than ducking in when they see an oncoming car (like a car driver would). It seems especially odd when you guys are so vulnerable

If the biker is some death-wisher chasing the grim reaper at high speed past stationary traffic and you have to swerve into a hedge to avoid them, you may have a point, they aren't doing a lot to ensure their own safety. However, if you have to move over a little bit, and more than likely not lose any speed in the process, is that such a big deal? Motorcyclists are vulnerable yes, but petulant, spiteful car drivers have caused more than a few accidents in their time by deliberately trying to impede a biker from making lawful and otherwise safe progress. As mentioned above, get your bike licence and it won't be long before you realise you don't have to sit in traffic jams either.
i'll happily make room on the m'way for bikes going in same direction and in town i'll pull to the left a little. No problem.
But, sometimes there are potholes to the left i'd like to avoid and some riders may think i'm passive aggressive for keeping central
And, when in the black forest or the Alps some riders seem to have a death wish - tyres on correct side, helmet on mine when the road isn't that wide.
Peace and understanding. Especially when the real enemy are cyclists!! <smiley....sometimes>

Did you not post a thread like this a few months ago?
Jealousy??I should also point out that I am one of those drivers who always moves over out of the way when I see a biker behind me so that they don't have to overtake on wrong side

I saw a guy on a CBR600F overtake slow moving traffic going over solid white lines at Hammersmith bridge last week. He forced his way up the middle of the road. Nothing out of the ordinary about that but he roared and snapped his head at a car like a crazy attack dog when the driver didn't give him as much room as he wanted. I wish I had have got it on video.

No you don't.
ts ..... your point is ?Edit: not questioning your licence possession, just clarifying that what you have stated as your opinion isn't.

Apologies if I did - I don't post very often but the route i take to work involves a lot of stationary traffic and almost always bikers on the wrong side of the road. Yes, I'm sure it's fun nipping through traffic and not having to deal with traffic jams!
As long as you're aware & drive sensibly then there shouldn't be a problem.Maybe they can be a bit cheeky, but then they're past and your worries gone.
Edited for mental spelling.
