Assuming my 12 years no claims doesn't mean anything as on a car

Is the £800 your excess or down payment on a pay monthly policy?

If its your excess you only pay it in the event of a claim where you're at fault.

£600 a year sounds a lot unless you are 16 living in central Birmingham and keeping the bike on the street.

You can fix a lot of damage on a 125 for £800. On that basis I'd go Tpft and not crash. I pay about £100 Tpft on a gsxr 750 but there has been a move by insurers in recent years to bump up excesses even for us old folks. It's partly what puts me off getting a newer / more expensive bike.

Insurance are taking the pee in that case.

I had a 1000cc Aprilia Tuono as my first bike around the same age and paid £300 a year tpft. Bike wasn't garaged either but good postcode.

My Dad passed his CBT last year and we struggled to get a quote on his YBR125 below £300 at first...and he's 70!

I think it ended up around £250 but I was surprised at the cost of it.

Don't buy a brand new 125.

I'm paying £180 a year tpf&t, varadero 125, 33 year old, parked on the driveway, 10k miles a year including commuting, 0 ncd.

If it helps, my Dad has only filled his YBR up 4 times since last August, OK, he only uses it socially but it is giving him well over 100MPG..

Why is this madness? Do you have a full bike licence? A 125 is easily nicked, it can also do a lot of damage if it hits someone or their car, especially with a novice rider on board.

Just had a look at the rest of this guys posts. I'm guessing it's a 16 year old who's just finished school with no qualifications and is having a laugh posting crap on here.
