In Halfords other day geting some car bits & they have a bit of a sale on, rear paddock stands for £27.

I've been thinking of getting a rear stand for a while, that seems dead cheap? can't see 'em much cheaper elsewhere can you?

I got a rear paddock stand of seemingly reasonable quality from the Al-Pal MCN show in London last week. It holds my VTR1000's back wheel off the ground with no issues, and feels stable when I give the bike a good wobble...

don't be tight with a paddock stand Iggy. Crap ones will really p1ss you off when they keep wobbling around. Get yourself a nice harris job - with captive rollers and a rigid welded design. Generally, any stand that isn't bolted together will be robust enough.

Yeah, don't bother with the shite mate. See Benny and he'll get you a 'racers' discount at P&H in Crawley on the pukka Harris ones. I think I paid just over a ton for front and rear! Pretty good value I reckon.

Get ones with 'bobbins'; they should be more stable. I bought mine with the bike and though the rear one is great, the front one seems rather temperamental - the bike rolls backwards, pulling itself off the stand. I had to change my speedo drive last year, and I had to park my car with the front wheel on the stand to keep it in the air!
