So after treating my bike battery so bad, i now have a totally useless one that wont hold enough charge to even start the bike.

Ran it through a couple of optimisers, they both came up as its buggered.

Motorcycle place B***** Motorcycles in Exeter sold me a "bargin" battery for £41.00 - got it home and its not for my bike (wrong size )

They are quoting £70 for a battery. Surely I can get a fazer battery cheaper than that?!

I`m old enough to remember the good old kick starts on my bikes if the battery let me down!

I remember trying to bump start my old zxr750 just for the wheel to lock every time I slipped it into gear and then having to push the b*stard thing back up the hill. No fun.

I leave my blade on the optimiser every night now.

Have you tried CMS in Vennybridge/Pinhoe Road? They're usually a bit cheaper than Bridge. I still ended up paying £67 inc VAT for a battery for my DRZ400, but a battery for my VTR1000 was only £27+vat.

You probably won't be able to buy a battery mail order, because of postal restrictions of acids.

Huh, try doing that with a Ducati 916!!!

Took me nearly an hour of wheel locking fun to finally start it. I was completely knackered after.

I got a new Yuasa battery for my Aprilia from Halfrauds. Its quite a large one - I guess for the larger starting current required for a large twin - and it was £49.99. At least 10-20 quid cheaper than Hein Gericke (sp?) wanted IIRC.
