Interesting. I knew they'd been a dramatic increase, but this is ridiculous.

Same thing happening in Birmingham on a daily basis. Mate had his S1000RR nicked last week by moped thieves.

The Police need to get a few fking sting operations going on and catch these fkers and give them serious sentences.

Anyone doing this sort of stuff needs to be made an example of. The lack of any intervention is encouraging the scum to carry on and recruit more of the same.

Its bloody ridiculous.

I want the police to stop hiding behind that they can pursue. Set up some sting operations and get them in the act. Be ready to block escape routes then take down. Give the bds a kicking in the back of the van and prosecute!

But even when they are caught they are either to young to be prosecuted or the courts just see it as petty crime and hand down probation sentences or the like. So unless there are some fundamental changes it's not going to end anytime soon. In reality it will probably get worse.

I've had five stolen in four years. I can't get theft insurance any more, and I'm sick of it.

To be fair I don't think there too much the police can do at the time of robbery. Possibly the way forward is to install small trackers as standard and make them hard to find. The problem is cost. You would have thought nowadays there would be a super cheap or even free way to achieve this.

Finger chopping and public stoning should be brought back specifically for these low life twots.

Its this st that made me give up having a nice bike after 35 years of fun.

Just got sick of paying out to fix attempted theft damage.

I now ride a battered old scooter.

The idea of allowing decent people to arm themselves is looking more and more attractive.

Needs to get on something like LBC.

All they ever talk about is:

Brexit. It's happening so stop bellyaching about it.

Muslims. It's happening so stop bellyaching about it.

Gender issues. FFS talk about something important like the meteoric rise in moped crime and gangs.

Dare I ask if the perpetrators of these crimes are from foreign shores? Just wondered.

I suspect we have enough of our own scrotes to make this a non-issue

Late responding to this, sorry.

Communal car park, CCTV, 24 hour security patrols, disco locks, U locks, and big chains.

Like I said, I can’t get theft cover now, and I can’t have the scooters I’d like, I’ve had to go for something that doesn’t appeal to the local youths.

The two caught for mine were a mix. One Muslim Pakistani, one white English.

It was on LBC earlier in the year with Sidaq Khan and Nick Ferrari.
Khan basically said we need to use bigger chains on our bikes.

Why? In fact why does that thought even cross your mind? Does it suit your agenda to see all criminals as dirty foreigners and all Brits, especially white ones (as if a Brit couldn’t be white) as perfect.

I’m a staunch Tory voter and a longstanding member of the party, but inhate the way people get swept up in bullst quotes taken out of context and base their whole views on that false position.

Khan is doing a great job in London , and I live here, no vanity projects, a genuine commitment to business, driving down pollution and cycling. He may not understand motorcycle theft, but I suspect bigger things in the background which he cannot say. Like the police officer on my bikesafe course, said they were powerless but alluded to things in the background and now, after a few months we've had a couple of big undercover operations come to the surface.

The reason we have motorcycle theft, is quite simple, we have less police, S Khan has been supporting the police in this. It's obvious , thieves flourish if there are less police, they get brazen.

Also councils cannot spend money on this as there is no money for them, but when there was it was good for us citizens, we had metal gates put on alley entrances, I can get my bike into the garden now with added security. In Islington, not where I live, resident streets have metal rails to attach a chain, which also allow the chain to be attached off the ground.

This sort of stuff is never going to happen for many years now, so yes because of this the scrotes will continue.

I wonder why the good folk of Tokyo don't have to be vigilant.
