GPS detector on a bike....
Discussion
Never visited the bike section before, but asking on behalf of a friend about to buy a new Suzuki 750. He wants to know which (if any) GPS based speed camera detector will work on a bike, and be weatherproof?
Which units are popular on a bike?
Any help / thoughts greatly appreciated.

PDA based GPS and a bluetooth receiver could be made to fit in a tank bag. My iPAQ and receiver certainly would. There ought to be a way to may this splash proof to an extent too. I'll have a think about it. All that leaves is a way to listen to the warnings - I'm thinking the best option is an ear plug with speaker built in. These are custom made and pricey, but there's no way I'd ride without ear plugs in.
Hope that helps,
Steve.

I believe you can load in a database of speed camera positions.

Most GPS stuff will work on a bike
I had the Snooper S4 Neo for mine, I had to buy an ear piece to go inside my helmet, but it did work.
Only consideration was I had to keep it dry, but as it was under the screen that was fine. A bike with smaller or no fairing may have a problem with this.

Nearly all the colour garmin systems have bike mounts available to them, and I think some fo the higher spec models have specific bike designed remote thumb operated controls so you can adjust the settings on the move. check out garmins website. I'm pretty sure Euan McGregor used this type of system on his reent trip....

road angel do a bike fitting kit for the clasic and I used to have that on the bike.
This comes with a earphone. it worked very well but I gave up using it because the earphone got on my tits. I was forever getting the wire traped or wrapped around something and it was a pain getting my lid on and off.
no way in hell I would hear the audible beep with out the ear piece.
