Going to the BSB round at Oulton Park next week - Race day / Sunday only. Never been before and going by myself as a bit of a treat after a mental few weeks at work.

A) Best way to travel from Manchester? car or bike? I see there is a kit store for best part of a tenner.
B) With general access tickets can i just stand anywhere and watch next to the fence?
C) Looked at a grandstand seat - recommendation on which grandstand?
D) Anything else i should know?

a - up to you - how much do you trust others not to mess about with your bike - but if you go in the car its a fu,cker to get out

b - yes

c no need but lodge probably for last lap do or die or at knickerbrook as you get into cascades and along lakeside then knicker chicane

d if you want a quite time go to shell you get island, shell and foulstons chicane before they go over hill top - entrance at knickerbrook

it's been raining - infrastructure is not great so be prepared to get stuck

Bike. It can take hours to get in / out of Oulton in a car, let alone the surrounding roads.

You can go pretty well anywhere, including the pits and pitlane (at certain times) with a normal ticket. The only places you can't get into are the hospitality tents and suites.

Easy to drop off your riding gear if you don't want to lug it around.

One note of caution is that the weather can be a bit hit and miss and sitting on a soggy bank in the rain is pretty miserable.

Watching live at the circuit is pretty limited though due to the layout of the track. Head for Cascades and you'll see them coming down there, over Hill Top, through Hizzies and out of Knickerbrook (albeit in the distance). You'll also have a big screen there to watch the rest of the race in between the live bits too. Everywhere else, you'll only see them coming through your corner.

Bike.

Anywhere as has been said.

Lodge.

Cafe is crap, druids is quite good to watch close up but down at cascades is good too.
It's out in the open and can feel like it too on a ste day.

Druids to watch. Especially if it's been raining and then dry's as the water hangs on the track due to the trees and it also keeps you a little drier.

Been going for years to Oulton and always been my favourite place to watch, they really do wrestle the big bikes around that corner
