Superbike Factory - Cheshire
Discussion
Having recently passed Mod 2 I have been on the look out for bikes.
I think I am going to get a MT07 and have been searching MCN etc.
A few good looking deals have come up from Superbike Factory in Cheshire. I mentioned it to a biker mate and he was not negative about them, but said it was a bit like, we buy any car - they buy a huge number of bikes and they are sold pretty much "sold as seen"? Is this the case?
I would like to buy from where I learnt as they are local and as a first bike it gives more confidence but they have a limited choice and are on the expensive side.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Went in a couple of years ago and half of the stock had been down the road.
Friend had a few issues with a bike he bought there, it was not roadworthy apparently and had to take it somewhere else for repair after they were unable to resolve issues.
Eyes open.
Recommend Hunts, but argue over price and finance (if you got down that route), additionally they are so busy you have to engage with them in the showroom - not wait for them to come to you. Had two bikes from there.

I went to their place when I was looking for my first bike, and spoke to them over the phone a few times after that when I saw their various ads.
To be honest, I would recommend going to more of a 'proper' dealer, especially as you're new. You'll probably be looked after better and be able to negotiate more easily. A decent, approved dealer is more likely to be professional and care about their reputation than this call centre, finance warehouse type operation. I went to several normal dealerships and found with each one that I was given a lot of time by knowledgeable people. I was able to get money knocked off, knew I'd get the mot and even a service done, and get great discounts on clothes. The Macclesfield place might be better for people who are experienced and know what they're doing without assistance. You might find yourself looking around with nobody there to offer assistance, save maybe for a young lad who doesn't ride. They don't tend to knock anything off in my experience, don't necessarily do an mot or service, and they don't sell gear. Also, you'll need to pay for a warranty.
Go to a few places and pick their brains. I ended up going to Wheels in Peterborough, which is far, but they had the bike I wanted and were great. Got mine delivered and touch wood have had no issues so far. Really happy with the gear I got as well, and saved a lot with discounts.

Agreed, if you wanna buy from a dealer, go to your local one, and then you will get discounted kit etc that may bring the price down a bit.
OR, but private. find the very best and priciest one you can as a private sale and go see that. A real minter bike from a no bulls
t private guy, who has owned it a while and looked after it, moving it on for a genuine reason, will be a better bike than one from a dealer who has taken it px, never ridden it, and with the best will in the world may not know anything about it.
Welcome to the awesome world of proper biking!

It's a good place to just go to sit on and get a feel for different types of bikes, although things are a bit more crammed in there lately. Heard some good opinions but also heard a few bad ones too. Keep an eye out for motorcycles that have been setup for the track.
Millennium Motorcycles in St. Helens and Robinsons of Rochdale seem a good bet if they're around your area.

I bought my Striple from there.
They were the cheapest on the web at the time so I was obviously attracted to their ad. I called the dealership and the salesman said the bike looked absolutely pristine. It was a 1 owner bike with good service history. They sent over some high quality images and to be fair, it looked exactly as described. I managed to negotiate £300 off the asking price, waive the admin fee and deliver the bike for free. They also offered a fair price for my old SV subject to viewing.
They delivered the bike exactly when they promised to and it was absolutely mint. They also spent a lot of time going round my SV which I was pleased about as to me it showed they were careful with stock they were buying. Once they’d done this and we were both happy, I called the dealership and paid the balance. 3 days later I received a call from Superbike Factory making sure I was pleased with everything and asking me to give them a review online.
I was impressed with both the bike and Superbike factory if I’m honest. They were straight forward, the bike was described perfectly and it was delivered on time, valeted to a high standard. It was also the cheapest on the web.
It’s worth pointing out that I work (in sales) in a main franchise car dealership. I buy bikes from dealers as buying and selling privately would be like a busman’s holiday for me! I can’t be bothered with the aggro of all that!
In summary, I was pleased with Superbike Factory and would recommend them to others.

I'd second the Millennium recommendation (and it's a rare event indeed to the able to recommend a bike dealer!). I was after a new Kawasaki Ninja 650 last year and live only a couple of miles from the nearest main dealer, J&S at Oakmere. The total, full-on ignorant, couldn't give a f*ck attitude of their (wrongly named) 'salesmen' lost them a sale. I travelled the 30 miles to Millennium and they couldn't have been more helpful, falling over themselves to arrange test rides. So a nice new Kawa with a Millennium number plate is now in my garage.
Leon was the chap I dealt with.
I went up to Superbike Factory last summer, for a look as much as anything else. Lots of scruffy bikes all stacked in a warehouse. Not many in a condition that made me want to buy them. They deal in sheer numbers clearly, so margins will be small, which never bodes well for customer service once money has been exchanged.
As above, Hunts were decent with me on a purchase, Millenium get good reviews (good café too IIRC). J&S are over priced on 2nd hand bikes and most of those are scruffy too IMO. Bill Smiths (Chester) have always been good to me too, but again, expect main dealer prices to reflect that.

I was on my way to buy a bike from Hunts when an alternative came up here so I went for that instead. Had put a deposit down with Hunts on their advice before I travelled all the way from Scotland to have a look (in case it went before I got there). Emailed them and told them I wouldn't be buying the bike after all. Cheerfully returned my deposit and ,surprisingly, never got any attitude from them over it at all. Definitely a dealer on my shortlist for my next bike purchase.
Give Simon a ring at Macc Motorcycles at Bollington Mill. He sourced my last 3 bikes. I bought them blind.
Hunts are very good. Hunts are very dear. Then again, they have big overheads. Rate them highly.
Superbike Factory.........mum told me to keep my mouth shout if could not say anything nice.

I bought my bike zx6r from superbike.. It wasnt a 100% and i cant for the life of me understand why past me bought it. Had rust spots, sounded like it had been ragged and absolutely no give in price which they like to say is the cheapest online... But isnt because of all the add ons. 100 quid admin fee for starters. They prey on new bikers or posers who know nothing about the bike they want so are easily persuaded by the pushy sales team.
That said.. If you know what you want and are confident.. They do have some good bikes, its just a shame its under a load of crap
