Morning all,

I’m after some casual gear for the summer time (or has that been and gone?). The only stuff I have is textile stuff which is great for commuting but not for a weekend pootle about so I’m after some decent jeans and a leather jacket. I’ve trawled through the usual websites (SBS, J&S, etc.) but couldn’t find any jeans suited (denim, slim fitting, armour) so I did a Google search and happened upon a company called Knox who do a pair of jeans I like:

https://www.planet-knox.com/product/spencer-slim-f...

They seem decent but I’ve not heard of Knox before, they don’t sell a lot and the few reviews on the website are very short and sweet. Was hoping somebody on here might be able to provide some feedback from experience?

Cheers.

Knox are one of the top tier of motorcyclist protection manufacturers, from motorcross to trackday armour and some of the best jeans out there, I have a couple of pairs of knox jeans and trust my trackday protection to one of their back protectors and chest protectors.

A company you can definitely trust in ..

Not connected to them in any way, just a happy customer.

Also if you ask nicely they can adjust the lengths to suit ....

Bought my first pair of jeans from knox. So far very pleased with them. Comfortable and look good when not on the bike. Tried quite a few other makes in J and S as wasn't happy with any of them in terms of fit, many felt really baggy and loose. So took a chance and ordered a knox pair from sportsbike shop who are very good for delivery and returns if you don't like the fit.

Cheers for that. Didn’t realise they were on there as they have them down as skinny and I was searching for slim but reviews say they’re comfy on the bike so just ordered myself a pair in black and this lovely little leather number:

Another vote for Rokker. I bought a pair in March and was freezing when I went out in 5C, however, last weekend in 28C they were very comfortable

A shame my only experience of them was of gloves falling part at the stitching after just a few rides and no fall damage.

Why knox are not something I would trust in myself. And why i've not spent any money with them since

Sorry just my limited experience of Knox

Try M&P, you may get lucky and find they have a sale on.

Mate, fair play, never tried teh gloves personally, had a few mates with the Handriod gloves, seemed happy enough with them although I was always worried the whole ratchet system was just a complicated way of fixing a problem that had been solved far more simply in other ways ....

I have a pair of Bull-It jeans and a pair of Rokkers. Since getting the Rokkers I've never worn the Bull-its again. I can't fault the Rokkers in quality, comfort and cut - and they're waterproof. The quality of the Bull-it jeans ws fine, but very thick and heavy.

My wife is only an occasional passenger, so I thought I better do the right thing and get her a set of protective jeans. But for occasional use and never to be worn off the bike I deemed the Rokkers too expensive so got her a set of Knox jeans. Quality is fine, and not quite as heavy as the Bull-Its - and the armour is included. But although she tried them on in the shop and they looked fine, having worn them a bit the cut is certainly not flattering, and not the same cut as a regular jean - much baggier in places.

I use a Knox back protector so the brand is fine and the quality is fine - just try them on and make sure they look right.

...or by a pair of Rokkers.

I got some of their kevlar lined jeans, love them. Comfortable for walking about in all day, riding all day etc etc. My wife bought a pair for her self, she's happy with them too.

Everything turned up today. SportsBikeShop and DPD as efficient as ever.

Richa Cafe leather jackets looks very nice, even as just a normal jacket, fits really nice and comfortable. Quite snug but that suits me. Leather is heavy but is still supple. I’m 6’ and just over 11 stone and bought a size 40.

Knox Spencer jeans are ridiculously comfortable and the armour seems spot on but I’ve bought a size too big so I’ve ordered a 32.

I also bought a pair of Weise leather gloves which thankfully also fit like a....

Cheers for the feedback anyway guys. Looking forward to the next decent weekend.

My jeans (Knox Richmond) arrived today as well, ordered from Sportsbikeshop. Very impressed with them, better than most I've tried on.

Are those gloves the Weise Vagos? haha funny as I nearly ordered them to. Good reviews on Sportbikeshop.

They are indeed. Great minds and all that.

Seem decent, protection doesn’t seem as good as that in my Richa gloves but they were also half the price. Anyway, style over substance isn’t it?

Another vote here for Rokker. Just bought a pair about 10 days ago, and cannot fault them. Expensive, but try a pair and you’ll see why. The fit is great: proper slim fit that actually looks good. It has knee and hip protectors. And 6 seconds abrasion time is stronger than leather, it’s a high tech fibre around which they wind the denim. So single layer, not twin layer like my Draggin jeans that have an inner Kevlar sleeve which is just too hot in summer.

In winter though, I’d wear the Draggins or my cordura wet weather gear if it’s raining. But for summer, the Rokkers are perfect.
