Just back from picking up the GSXR replacement, bought from a very decent chap on here. After the test ride at Triumph the other week I knew it was what I wanted for the road, more fun than a lot of the litre bikes and you can actually push it unlike 200HP missiles. Not to say I wouldn't buy one, but not this week biggrin

Bit windy on the Mortorway but not so bad, hardly what it's intended for really. It feels a lot softer than the one I rode before so will be seeing how it goes before twiddling. Brakes are just awesome, induction noise is very addictive. Very chuffed.

Huge thanks to MrGman, full tank of fuel and led me out to the A road to home when I departed, top man.

Couldn't resist to put all the suspension settings back to what the manual said was 'road'. Bit more pressure in the front tyre and left the rear alone. What a difference. The preload on the front forks was seemingly the opposite of where it should have been, Triumph, in their infinite wisdom decided half of the adjusters are from full CCW and the others from full ACW. I still think the rear is still too soft to be honest, so I will put it between the road and sport settings. It's nice to see that even though it's a budget Ohlins that it actually responds so well. Also the front forks, they were a bit off but never complained and still have that plush feeling, super impressed. More so the brakes, absolute top notch and I haven't played with the ratio yet. Managed to set a user profile and now have the rear ABS off and front on, TC etc off. A small detail, but one I like is the dash changing to night mode, it's also got a fuel gauge which is handy.

Whether it ends up as a Daytona yet I am not sure, that was always the plan so I'll get the pipe and map sorted first. Wish I'd made the leap earlier and not been so caught up in the power lottery to be honest. I haven't had as much fun on a bike in ages and picking grass out of a slider tonight made me smile. How good are modern tyres now, the SC on these is like are like 364's on the TZ, so much grip in them and no nasty surprises.

It's going to suck being away for a week tomorrow.

Makes for a great fun road bike IMO.

Have you noticed your clutch being noisy?

Neutral, leaver out, on mine doesn't sound too far off a Ducati dry clutch frown

Sounds like you're already really enjoying it biggrin

You'll have to keep this thread updated with what you do to the bike.

@trickywoo - I test rode two different bikes neither of them or my old bike made the noises you describe, have you spoken to your local dealer?

No, it’s silent. There’s a known issue with the plates IIRC. Take it to the dealer.

For sure! Still thinking about the map and pipe, I’m more inclined to book a track day and spend it on tyres tbh. It’s had nothing but positive compliments from all.

I’ve been to the dealer. Their tech ‘who has ridden loads of these’ agrees there is a noise but says it’s normal.

I sounds like someone kicking a can down the road and really shouldn’t be there, never mind being told it’s normal.

Great choice of bike love mine smile. Keep seeing questions about noisy clutches mine has 5k on it and the clutch is fine. Agree about the brakes and front end feel.

Are you a dealer? I have a friend in the market for one. Thanks

I pick my RS up on Saturday and it can't come round soon enough! (not looking forward to the b*llocking I will get from the missus though)

Interested to hear what you do with yours.

Ok, full disclosure. I had no idea what a 765RS was and had to perform an Internet search using a well-known search engine.

Very, very nice.

Congrats all round.

I just went and had a look at one in lings norfolk. It looks very “fussy” compared to the older models.

Put a stylish Arrow exhaust (from Triumph) on it and it will look complete.

Actually the OE Arrow doesn’t do much for me. I’m leaning toward towards the Yoshi, but the SC Project will likely be the best package due to its development cycle. Bloody expensive for next to nothing.

The PCP deal was tempting, but tbh it’s based on a crystal ball. Nobody knows what will happen to used S prices when the new one comes out, therefore i could have lost a chunk. The 765 is a safer bet and tbh loads of fun. We’ll see next year if I’m right smile

Just that Arrow is styled particularly to 765RS, so it looks a bit more complete.
Aftermarket pipes usually leave a gaping hole under the bike or remove parts of fairing.

For me Arrow would not be for power gains (probably negative for all pipes unless decat+remap, which is not allowed here in Switzerland) and not so much for extra noise either (already noisy enough), but for looks. IMHO, Arrow pipe looks nice, short stubby exhaust and styled breadbox, would be nicer if it were painted black though.

You’ve got me looking at 765RS now! They seem to have rave reviews and appear to be good value. There’s one of eBay with 800miles on the clock for £8.5!

Tempting

Yes, there’s not many negative comments about them, tbh I wasn’t even considering one until the test ride.
