I've just bought my first bike (YBR125) and am proper excited.

It's in very good condition and seems to run fine, but it's done 10 miles in the last 2 years. I'm going to change the oil and clean the strainer, and clean and re-lubricate the chain and sprocket.

It passed an MOT in June so think the brakes, etc, are probably fine.

Is there anything else I should do before stretching its legs? I want to do some 100 mile round trips on it ASAP but don't want to overlook anything.

Thanks!

Change the brake fluid. Sounds fun.

As fun as 10bhp can be, going to rattle around on that for a couple of months then do DAS, but will be piling on the miles until then.

It'll be great, any bike is good. My daughter's 3.5hp scooter was good fun. Good luck.

Other than checking tyre pressures there isn't much else!

Have fun on it! Riding the wheels off a 4 stroke 125 can be fun on the right roads

Check for corrosion, particularly to the swinging arm. Also check chain and sprockets, if you're replacing them, the YBR and YBR custom are different. Great little bikes though!
