Hi All

Does anyone have a recommendation for a place in the Guildford area to have ACF50 applied to the bike, please?

Ta!

Have you checked allyearbiker website? https://allyearbiker.co.uk/

Alternatively dead easy to do yourself:

https://www.mandp.co.uk/acf-50-anti-corrosion-form...

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Brake-Cleaner-Spray-Bot...

Items may be sourced elsewhere even cheaper.

Put the acf50 in the sprayer, sit it in a bucket of hot water for 5 minutes, pump and spray. Just cover up the control surfaces and tyres and spray away.

Howard from AYB covers your area. Really good guy, takes a load of care of your bike a gives it a thorough clean before he applies it. I can't recommend him enough.

I do it myself now, as I got a small compressor and spray gun and some time on my hands.

I did look at AYB but the website wasn't functioning properly for me, so I thought I'd ask anyway.

As for doing it myself, I feel sure I've got more important things to do, in all honesty!

Best to avoid brake discs and tyres.

from personal experience I have found no longer term ill effects from plenty applied to my hair and drive.

I had it done 'professionally' a couple of years back, but the fker who applied it sprayed the brakes & almost everything else, including the seat!! furious I rode out of the workshop & carried on going through the first red light I came across - bloody dangerous & took a 10 mile, ultra-slow ride, to burn the stuff off the brakes. Be careful!
Incidentally, should one apply it titanium exhausts?

It should never be applied to brakes, tyres, seats and controls!!

I've found that it wad fine on the exhausts, it tended to burn off in clouds of white smoke, but you can get a weird orange residue after a while that you need S100DOC or similar to get off.

No real guide, but the AYB will fully degrease and clean all of the bike down, then cover all the bits it shouldn't go on and spray it on using a compressor so it goes into the crevices. They also put it on the whole bike in the right places at low pressure or via a cloth. Then they waxed / protected the paint and did my chain. I thought this was pretty good as he drove out to my place in November and did it all.

Bits not to do: brakes, tyres, seat, controls. It will burn off exhausts and manifolds, never had an issue on my carbon termis though and it makes them look very good. I only do a thin coating on the rad though.

Yes grit and stuff sticks to it, but come time to wash it off, the bike looks great.

Did mine with a small paint brush, just poured some in a small tub and used very little as it seems to go a long way.
