Brands Hatch Qualifying - bicycles?

Does anyone know if you can get away with bringing bicycles to the circuit on the Saturday ? Reception said "not really" ...wondering if anyone has been and knows differently. Just thinking of saving time getting around the further parts of the track
I've no idea, but thread title suggested you were planning on cycling on the track itself during qualifying....
When I raced I used a pushbike to commute around the admin/beer/gate plus external parts of the circuit during the meet (and often on circuit after hours). And I’ve taken bikes to quite prestigious circuits (Le Mans, Silverstone etc) and no-one has blinked an eye.
Take a bike lock though. When you’ve decided to ride down to the far end of the Hangar straight you get some jealous looks from those on foot!

Thanks for that. I saw people had bikes at Donnington WSBK.Take a bike lock though. When you’ve decided to ride down to the far end of the Hangar straight you get some jealous looks from those on foot!
At the Le Mans car race we had no problems, but I dont think the French do health and safety.
I'll bring a pair of folding bikes and carry them in their bags .... I can't believe it will be that busy on the Saturday.
You'll be asked to get off them, the paths around BH are quite narrow in many places and they don't like cyclists in the public areas as it causes a hazard, also BH is super compact so you'll spend most your time chaining it up, unchaining it and generally faffing, its such an easy place to walk around that I wouldn't bother with a bike ...

You've just saved me a job of loading the folding bikes into the car. Thanks for the heads up, very much appreciatedBikesalot said:
Was fine to cycle around the campsite / external areas but was asked to get off and lock them up at the entrances.
This was 2017 - Sat & Sun

No worries mate, also if you haven't been to Brands before a great place to watch is from the inside of Druids on the infield ....
Where the infield trees are ....

I was there back in Foggarty era, didn't know about the infield access. That's brilliant thank you.Where the infield trees are ....
I stopped years ago but my stepson is just getting into it - he's a massive Haslam fan so it will be a good day for him I'm sure.
He's only been to Donnington outside of the TT (which we do every year)

Blimey - they used to race F1 cars round that? Looks like a cart track. That must have been brilliant (not least because in those days they were "proper" cars).Where the infield trees are ....

I've taken my bike a few times & not had any trouble, qualifying is a lot less busy than race day so cant see you having any issues.
Bikesalot was told to leave them at the gate last year, so I'm thinking they've probably got hot on it now - don't forget for tomorrow they also have race 1 where Haslam could clinch the championship, so it might be busy.Having looked on the map I can reach the parts I need really easily covering very little distance - I didn't remember but seems you can take a short cut from Druids to the outer GP part to see them on the fast straight - good enough for me!
Old video now, but Scott Mansell setting a lap record for Brands in a BOSS F1 car of 38.291sec.

You know it's a good spot when you can hear the knee sliders scraping on the concrete .
Fantastic day out, and the inside of Druids was superb.
Not much point in bicycles because its to hilly for my gearless folding bike, and you barely need to walk far to see all the good spots.
Met 2 kids who had bikes, they said they just pushed them through the entrance gates and nobody said anything

Racing looked pretty awesome on telly, as did the unseasonably warm weather. Not much point in bicycles because its to hilly for my gearless folding bike, and you barely need to walk far to see all the good spots.
