Now that's an idea. My tvr is still b*ggered but I might be up for that - I'll check with the missus to see if I've agreed to do anything.

Where in Berks are you? I'm near Thatcham.

It'd have to be a relatively sedate run over there as my tyres are pretty bald.

If there is to be other bikers there I'll suggest it.

I've just been given 'permission' so I'm in. What time is it and where?

That sounds like a good plan. I was looking for an excuse to go along.

Providing permission is granted I will be there.

Cheers

I'll be on my fireblade but like I say my tyres are pretty near the limit so I'll be taking it a bit easy... They are extremely dicey in the wet so if if rains I'll probably have to bail - I've been aquaplaning up and down the a34 quite a bit recently

Which way were you planning on going? I can come down to kingclere if you like as I'm only up in Cold Ash.

Sadly not an option right now as I'm just finishing my current contract right now and don't have another lined up yet. Besides, I'm quite glad to lay the fireblade up for a bit as I've done 7k miles on it in the last 4 months and my arse aches

Is that the one just past the star pub that has the car sales and the little thief?

What time?

I'll mail you my mobile number and if you could reply with yours that would be great. If the weather looks sh*te I'll call you to let you know I won't be coming but it should be good.

Yeah thats the garage. Err time ummm well how long does it take to get to egham??? lets allow a good 10 mins huh!!

nah i recon we should allow an hour cos Ive got no idea where Manu's ferrari exhaust gaff is so 10mins of brain out M3 thrash to do the 40 or so miles then 50mins looking for the place! so say meet at 9.30??

anyone else meeting us there??

ps 7k out of a rear tyre on a blade flipping 'eck are you a saint I get through em in 3k 'ish even the hard as concrete michelin 100x ive got on now. the sticky bridgestones were shagged in about 2.5k I though that was pretty good, a 'busa riding mate recons on 1k a rear tyre...

Ok. See you there at 9.30.

The trick is to use the edges as well as the centre

I got 6k out of the first rear tyre and about 5k out of the second with a little bit of life left in it. The front has lasted the whole 11k but is pretty dead. It's amazed me how long they've lasted especially as most of the miles has been straight up and down the a34/m3. The tyres on the zx6r lasted a lot less time but then it skidded about a lot more whereas the blade just grips (well, it used to at any rate )

...of course, it could be that I ride like a girl and you'll have to take it easy on sunday so I can keep up - I rarely ride with other people so genuinely have no idea.
