I’m in the process of doing some maintainance on my trackbike and one of the fork seals are weeping. I don’t know when or in fact if the forks have ever been serviced so figured now is as good a time as any.

Who do I send them to? I’m not after the cheapest(or most expensive), I’m after value for money and a good reputation. A quick turnaround would be nice too.

I’ll be looking to send them/drop them off in the next few weeks. The bike is a 2008 ZX6R if that matters.

Cheers

I’ve also used reactive suspension before and been very happy with the service there. I’ve also used Brook Suspension in Bradford who were also great.

Cheers guys, I shall do some ringing around and see what they say. As a rough estimate, what should I be paying? Never had it done it done before so no idea how much I should be paying.

Unless you're looking at doing more than a service any bike shop should be able to do this.

For price if it's only seals and oil expect approx £80-120 add another £30-50 if you have/need bushes replacing too.

That's from what I remember seeing being quoted when I looked but have no personal experience as have always done them myself.

I used Parkitt Performance Motorcycles & Racing when I got my forks serviced on the track bike.

Whipped them off, packaged them up and sent them off. They serviced and returned them two days later.

Can't remember the price though.

Thanks again guys, I shall get on the phone and get something sorted.

Unfortunately there is a real lack of bike dealers/shops around me(Herefordshire). None that I know of that I would personally trust with something I’m going to be abusing on a racetrack anyway.

The stupid thing is, I could happily rip the engine to bits and sort it myself. Suspension work is just gobbledegook to me, I have no idea how any of it works. I don’t want to find out I’ve fked something up while barrelling into the old hairpin!laugh I’ll just leave it to the experts.

If it’s a track only bike, might be worth chucking a ktech piston kit in there at the same time, and respring for your weight if you haven’t done so already.

I’ve never used him personally, but this guy is supposed to be good:

I do know a couple of people who have used him who really rate him. I was going to ask where you were, but I see you’re in Herefordshire, so you’d have to courier/post stuff to and from him.

K-Tech are the obvious ones if you're going to have to ship them, but there's always Maxton, Parkitt, 100% suspension to name a few others.
