Afternoon!

So after my friend and I rode down to watch the BSB at Silverstone this year we decided we just NEED to experience being on the track. Neither of us have done track days before so a little nervous but there seems to be a wealth of companies in the UK that organise track days!

Does anyone have any recommendations as to which TD events company we should book through? Are any better than others oris it just a case of book a novice group and just go for it i.e am I over thinking it? smile

Over thinking to a degree, I'd suggest No Limits or an MSV own day, the instructors at NL are a good bunch and you're never far from help.

I’d suggest your first day is with some kind of structured instruction if you want a safer introduction to trackdays
There’s a few places that do that :
Ron Haslam days at Donington
California superbike school at brands or donnington (check their site as they’ve swapped tracks for 19)
Silverstone masterclass days
Jamie Whitman Trackdays (Anglesey and Mallory?)

All of these will have much lower numbers than a FE or NL trackday, and the pace will be slower generally and you’ll get decent instruction all day
MSV days tend to have lower numbers too

The problem you get with grabbing instructors from focussed events or no limits is that they’re not being paid to be there, they’re doing it for free track time, so might have their own agenda
That’s not to say they’re bad, as there’s some really good instructors with both companies, but it won’t be the properly structured training you’d get with the days I’ve mentioned above
