Greetings all.

A friend of mine is planning to visit me in Norfolk (20 minutes away from norwich) from the Netherlands sometime before June and he's an avid biker, i however am not. I was wondering if anybody can recommend any nice roads or places for him and his gf (and possibly young teenage daugther) to visit. I already disappointed him by letting him know Norfolk is almost as flat as the NL but if theres anything fun you guys/girls can recommend it would be much appreciated. Additionally, any hotels favoured by bikers would be great.

Thanks!

Netherlands is also flat so he will be at home. Snetterton / Norfolk Tank museum are two that immediately jump out....

The ride from Hunstanton to Yarmouth along the coast road is nice. Norwich to Holt (cup of tea) to Guist to Norwich also good. Norwich to Watton, to Swaffham to Fakenham, and back to Norwich also fun.

www.whitwellstation.com Whitwell have a good gathering on Bikes on a Friday night in the Summer.

There's this bike museum in North Walsham. https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Attraction_Review-g5...

Speedway at Kings Lynn might have something on http://www.kingslynn-speedway.com/

There isn't a huge amount of stuff to do for bikers to be honest.

As for Hotels . . . . I suppose a lot depends on budget. Would be nice to have something on the coast, always fancied one of huts at the white horse in Brancaster www.whitehorsebrancaster.co.uk

I didn't have a bike when I lived there but as a teenager the Fakenham to Dereham road and the Fakenham to Wells road were always a good laugh in a borrowed Sierra.

The B1149 Norwich - Holt road is good for an early morning blat followed by the A148 to Cromer. When he gets to Cromer he can pick up the A149 coast road either west towards Wells or East to Yarmouth.

If he goes west then try the Wells - Fakenham road back to, Fakenham then on the A1067 to Norwich.

Stop for tea in Holt then fish & chips in Wells & you could easily lose best part of a day jumping on and off that one.

Depending on his taste in bikes

The David Silver collection is near Ipswich with a lot of Honda history
http://www.davidsilverhondacollection.co.uk.

Or probably nearer to you is Krazy Horse at Bury St Edmunds who stock Norton, Indian, MV and other interesting stuff,

There's TTT motorcycles in Sudbury for a visit, and Route 11 (on the A11, who'd have thought it?)
The road between Wymondham and Dereham is good, the B1135 I think. Actually, they should go Dereham-Garvestone-Kimberly-Wymondham-Hethel-Mulbarton-swaresden up to the Tesco on the Norwich ring road.
Close to that route near Hethel is a good pub called the Bird in hand, about a mile off-road. Maybe they can arrange for a tour of the lotus factory if they still do them.
Or if they're in Wymondham, they should eat in the green dragon.

On Tuesday nights there's a big bike night in old Buckenham and from there they can head towards Banham zoo and the roads round that way.

Also, if they're heading to Great Yarmouth, don't take the Acle straight because their soul will die. I had 6 years commuting on that desolate bd. Go off the Acle roundabout towards filby. Then cut off to the right and go through Stokesby and Runham

There's a bikers night on a Friday at the White swan pub in Gt Yarmouth that's usually well attended, only in the summer months.
And there's Ness point in Lowestoft which is Britain's most Easterly point. It's not the most picturesque place but you can easily get motorcycles on to the "euroscope" for a photo (as seen on top gear)

Don't go to Yarmouth unless you love the smell of chips. Everything smell of chips. Even the sea.

2 wheel Tuesday at Old Buckenham is my personal favourite bike night, a really good mix of bikes and a nice pub.
Theres an old girl who lives in the cottage next to the pub who loves looking at the bikes and having a chat.
Also if you come down the A140 from Norwich and come off at the Pulham roundabout to get there you've got a great road for 10 or so miles.
