Santa brought my MT10 a decat pipe and end can for Christmas.
I presume it will then need a re-map once fitted. Question really is where is the best place to take it? I have googled a few places near(ish) to me, but would rather go on personal recommendation than a few google reviews. Anyone recommend anywhere in the NW, for info i'm 5 minutes from Oulton Park.

Thanks & Merry Christmas!

They go very rich. Of the two in my group that own and have decats plus exhausts one has left as is. It's thirsty and pops / bangs blue flames alot

The other had a Woolwich map I think (I'll check and update). Cost him a fair bit but power gains on the dyno were huge.

Both dyno'd standard one with just exhaust made 139 at the wheel. Mine on same dyno with exhaust no map (Aprilia Tuono 1100) made 151 and my mates Mt mapped made 152. He would remind me of that 1bhp extra he got on me

Real difference was the ride ability of it after which was much better

Get in touch with andy at Junction 33, he can remap your ecu if you send it to me using woolich maps. He’s done loads of mt10s, I posted mine from Devon to lancs and he sent it back the next day, made a world of difference to smoothing the throttle, power etc

Thanks for the replies, sounds like the Woolwich map is the way to go. I'll give Junction 33 a call.

Either P3 tuning (Liverpool) or Junction33 (Lancaster) ...

Both have had great results with MT10’s.

just make sure you get it setup on a rolling road, to suit your actual engine.

I don't have any experience of the MT10 but I do have experience of the >15 R1 which is very similar. I put an FTEcu bike side harness on and loaded their map on with that, plus turned off all the emissions crap that ruined the throttle response. Made a real difference. I then fitted their Activetune kit which makes adjustments in real time and that made it even smoother still.

I was considering doing the same as this to another bike, will it still pass an MOT with a decat exhaust? Or do you have to change it back beforehand?

Mine went straight through the MOT with the decat. I don't think it's a test item for bikes, they're just meant to fail if it's louder than a standard bike. Most testers simply use the excuse that there's no standard bike there to compare tho but I had mine done at a Yam dealer so I don't know what excuse they'd come up with if challenged wink

Thanks, thats good to know. Yeah i think there is a max DB but i don't know if they check emissions. I see quite a few R1's MT10's etc with decat exhausts, but if it had to be changed back every year i don't think i would bother.

AFAIK there's no max dB or emissions test, it simply can't be any louder than standard. I've only had to MOT the R1 once due to age but I've MOTd plenty of other bikes with race cans etc and never had an issue. Make a few calls, I'm sure you'll find a relaxed tester.
