Thought I'd put a thread up regarding my adventures with various old bikes. Provided I can get the photos to work.
Current stable is a pair of BSAs, a 1969 B25 Starfire and a 1091 A65 Lightning.
Both a bit rough round the edges, but that's how I like them!
There may be a bit of Triumph 750 Bonneville in there too, she's sadly no longer with us.

This is the Starfire on a run to the steam railway in Dereham. This is just up the track from the station. Fun fact: I've had sportsbikes, racing cars, a 911, moderns and classics. On this very trip I got the only speeding ticket I've ever got on a motorcycle. On a 50 year old 250!

Can't really criticise the Old Bill. They pulled me over did all their checks - not nicked, MOT'd, insured, etc.
"This MOT ran out last month"
"st, so sorry officer, I didn't realise. But wait - I thought this year you didn't need on on bikes and cars over 40 years old?"
"That starts tomorrow"
"Oh dear"
"Where you live?"
"Over there - about a mile away"
"I can't let you off the speeding ticket at 44 in a 30, but ride your bike home, put it in the garage, don't touch it until tomorrow morning and we'll not say any more about the MOT."
"Yes, sir, grovel grovel, humble pie eating"

Lovely.

Dad has a 72K B25SS in the garage. In 14 boxes though as he took it apart in '81 and, ever the procrastinator, hasn't managed to put it back together.

I always liked the looks of the Starfire, in fact is was my dream bike at school in the late 60's....also it's big brother the 441cc Victor Roadster.

The trouble with Starfires was they used to knock out big ends.

Clip here from "If" in 1968, interestingly Malcolm McDowell didn't even hold a bike licence when the shot this, according to his pillion passenger actor David Wood. (Italian language)

Tell him to give it to me! It's for the best. Think of all the garage space he'll free up!
