As above anybody bought one if so which power bank do you use , I’m looking at them at the moment and the choice is mind boggling and all the power banks are aimed at phones and tablets so not sure if they are compatible with clothing .

If it were me I’d run it from the bike. The battery life isn’t that long realistically and certainly wouldn’t put out a decent amount of heat and last a days riding. The warranty on batteries is very poor and their lifespan isn’t great. You have to continue to use the batteries and charge them when not using the bodywarmer through the summer or the batteries are prone to dying. Plenty of people come back to their heated clothing in the winter to find the batteries are completely dead and need replacing.

I won’t say who but even the manufacturers tell dealers they are a waste of time.

I bought a Keis one for a trip to the Nordkapp, and run it from the bike. Makes a huge difference over a full day in cold conditions.
I think the Keis ones can be run from their own battery pack, but they don't have a huge run time.

I had some of the battery powered gloves, they were OK the first year, not as good (warm) as bike powered variant but better than non heated. The next season the batteries didnt last that long nor did the seem to get as warm

For ad-hoc winter use, the occasional trip 1-2 hours, the battery powered gear likely is fine but If you really need heated gear for prolonged cold weather use, my choice would be connect to the bike.

I have a Chili heated waistcoat - must have had it 18 years now. Powers off the bike, and it's excellent. It makes riding in the freezing cold really quite pleasant.

Although I'm sure mine must put out a higher wattage, as it's certainly not short of heat.

I bought one years ago, wired a socket to the bike so I could easily plug it in. First cold morning I put it on then my jacket over it.
First couple of miles were lovely, next couple of miles it's getting too hot, hit rush hour traffic on the motorway and I could smell bacon cooking. Unfortunately I'd put the socket on the right hand side and didn't want to risk taking my hand off the throttle to pull the plug so had to endure it until I could.
Putting it between my inner and outer lining worked better.

Gerbing run off the bike battery is the way to go.

Their whole range is far more comprehensive than the rest and they also have the micro mesh gloves etc. All interconnects nicely and they even have a wireless heat controller, so with a simple twist of a knob you can control the heat in gloves and jacket independently.

I'd also go for a full jacket as heated sleeves make a big difference. Just wear it instead of the inner jacket.
